Our Materials & Care tips
What your jewelry is made of, matters as much as how it looks.
Jewelry sits against your skin for hours, often from morning to night. So the metal matters: it decides how your jewelry feels, how long it lasts, and how kind it is to your skin.
That’s why we chose biocompatible materials, which simply means metals your body tolerates well. These are the same kind of metals trusted in the medical field, so they’re a natural fit for the production of jewelry you will never want to take off.
On this page, we’ll walk you through what we use, why we chose it, and how to take care of it, so you know exactly what you’re wearing.
Why Stainless Steel and Titanium?
Because jewelry you wear every day should be built for every day. These metals are chosen for strength and longevity, so your pieces can go from work to weekend and to travel with you.
Gentle on your skin, too.
Many people get itchy, and red skin from jewelry because of nickel. We chose our materials with that in mind.
316L stainless steel: This is the same grade used in surgical tools. It holds its nickel locked inside the metal, so very little touches your skin. That makes it a comfortable choice for most people, even for all-day wear.
Titanium (ASTM F-136): This is implant-grade titanium, the kind doctors use inside the body. It is essentially nickel-free and very rarely causes reactions, so it’s the gentlest option if your skin is extra sensitive. It’s also the metal piercers trust most for fresh piercings.
The Color
Our golden finish is an 18k gold PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating. Instead of a thin gold plated layer that rubs off, the gold is bonded to the metal in a process that makes it tough and long-lasting, and it helps us stay environmentally responsible, too.
Built to last, kind to the planet
Our pieces are made sustainably, with minimal impact on the environment. Both metals are good for the long run:
Stainless steel is one of the most recycled materials on the planet, and it handles daily wear without giving up. Titanium is highly recyclable and one of the most ethically sourced metals. It’s extremely durable and can last you decades.
Made for real life, rain or shine.
Our pieces are waterproof and anti-tarnish. That means you can wear them to the gym, to work, in the shower, in the rain, or while you sleep, and they keep their shine. No taking them off, no worrying about fading or dullness.
Care tips
To keep your jewelry looking its best for decades:
- Avoid chlorine pools and hot tubs.
- Wipe with a soft cloth after sweaty workouts or long days.
- Store it dry when you’re not wearing it.
How to clean your jewelry
Our pieces don’t need fancy products. A quick clean now and then keeps them looking new:
- Mix a few drops of mild soap (like gentle dish soap) into a bowl of lukewarm water.
- Soak your jewelry for a few minutes to loosen sweat, oil and/or dirt.
- Gently wipe it with a soft cloth. For small gaps and chains, use a soft toothbrush.
- Rinse with clean water.
- Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth, and let it air dry completely before you store/wear it.
A good rinse and dry every couple of weeks is plenty.
Please avoid: harsh scrubbing, abrasive cleaners, toothpaste, baking soda, bleach, and jewelry polishing or dip solutions. They can scratch the gold PVD finish.
